Our story
Picoast AI was born out of a personal need that quickly revealed a much larger societal challenge.
As my son entered high school, I found myself wanting to make sure he had all the life skills he'd need to be independent. What began as a list of essential skills quickly grew into something much larger as I spoke with other parents, young adults, and teens. My conversations, coupled with extensive research, exposed a troubling trend: today’s young adults are overwhelmed by a "perfect storm" of economic pressures, the constant influence of social media, and a lack of essential life skills. Many feel unprepared to navigate the realities of adult life—be it managing finances, finding career direction, or maintaining mental health. Modern parenting (to which I had subscribed), while rooted in love and a desire to protect, has inadvertently contributed to this struggle. Many young adults find themselves relying heavily on their parents or seeking guidance or validation from unreliable sources online. This dynamic often leads to increased anxiety, a lack of confidence, and a sense of inadequacy.
Young adults today are more comfortable with apps and digital tools than traditional methods of learning. They need a resource that fits seamlessly into their lives, offering practical guidance in a way that resonates with them. That's how Picoast AI took shape. We set out to create an app that provides young adults with the tools, lessons, and challenges they need to grow into self-reliant, confident individuals. Using practical tools, personalized advice, and an engaging life skills curriculum, Picoast AI provides practical support tailored to the unique journey of older teens and young adults.
